Michael B. Lehrman is a 1985 graduate of the Fordham University School of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Brandeis University in 1982. He began his legal career in the General Counsel’s Office of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, where he litigated Social Security cases on behalf of the Department.
In 1987, he joined the law firm of Martin, Clearwater & Bell, specializing in defending doctors and hospitals in malpractice cases. He was made a Partner of the firm in 1995. During his tenure at Martin, Clearwater & Bell, Mr. Lehrman not only tried many cases defending doctors and hospitals, including New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, he also tried various insurance defense cases, including products liability and general liability defense.
Mr. Lehrman has worked on cases for the State Insurance Fund, New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company, Physician’s Reciprocal Insurance Company, CNA Insurance, Seneca Insurance, Hospital Insurance Corporation, Lenox Hill Hospital, Proctor & Gamble, among others. Mr. Lehrman handled DES (Diethylstilbestrol) defense litigation, and was one of the attorneys involved in a joint trial on damages of small market share defendants in New York County. Mr. Lehrman joined our firm as senior trial counsel in 2003 and was made a partner in 2007. |
