All charges dismissed against Indian diplomat
We defended Devyani Khobragade, the Acting Consul General of India, when she was publicly arrested on baseless visa fraud charges, strip-searched, and held in a cell with violent criminals.
After our team succeeded in collecting evidence in Delhi and New York which absolutely established our client’s innocence, we filed an application with the Federal Court in Manhattan to have all of the fraud charges dismissed based on our client’s diplomatic status.
Ms. Khobragade is entitled to diplomatic immunity and the underlying facts ultimately show that she never should have been charged in the first place.Daniel N. Arshack
Despite the Federal Government’s strong opposition, the Court agreed with us and dismissed all of the charges. Our client has now returned to her position in Delhi. ■
