Lynn Hajek

Lynn Hajek is a 1985 graduate of the Emory University School of Law and manages the day to day requirements of the firm’s medical malpractice cases. In addition to the Bar of New York, she is admitted to the Bars of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the Supreme Court of the United States.
While in law school, Ms. Hajek worked at the District Attorney’s office outside Atlanta, Georgia. Thereafter, she practiced with celebrated defense attorneys Michael Dowd, Esq. and JoAnne Harris, Esq. Ms. Hajek had the unusual opportunity, early in her career to try cases and argue before the Appellate Division gaining invaluable experience often unattainable by young lawyers.
Ms. Hajek began her medical malpractice career along with David Hoffman, now General Counsel to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center (WHMC), as an Associate at the firm of Kanterman, Taub & Breitner P.C. where she managed the defense of several hospital clients and successfully tried cases on behalf of both individual practitioners and institutions.
Ms. Hajek has represented The Presbyterian Hospital, The Jamaica Hospital and Flushing Hospital Medical Center and WHMC and thier insured physicians predominantly in defense of complex neurosurgical and obstetrical malpractice cases. Some of the more significant cases involved utilizing MRI findings in successful defense of brain damaged baby suits, defending neuro-radiologists in the pioneering usage of embolization as treatment for arteriovenous malformations and obstetrical malpractice and neonatal ICU issues. In addition she defends cases involving a variety of sub-specialties, while also representing individual physicians insured by Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company and podiatrists insured by an outside company.
Ms. Hajek joined our firm in 2001. Since that time, Ms. Hajek has had primary responsibility for representing the firm’s clients at their depositions, in addition she has comprehensive responsibility for all aspects of daily case management and strategic case planning.
